Course Description

The course offers a flexible and diverse learning experience where students will experience a range of topics in the field of physical studies.
Assessments will be student-selected from a range of Achievement and Unit Standards, based on individual interest and need.
Areas of focus in the course are: Adventure Based Learning (Outdoor Education), Fitness Studies (Sports Science), Sociology/Leadership and a special interest inquiry topic.
At Year 13 students study leadership, sociology, risk management, bio mechanical and anatomy analysis, fitness programs. Students undertake practical components including ultimate frisbee, swimming, fitness training, and outdoor pursuits.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Approximately $120.00. HVHS PE uniform. We are grateful to families making voluntary payments to assist with course specific costs.
Recommended Prior Learning
Reasonable success in Level 2 Physical Education or at the HOD’s discretion.
