Course Description

This course covers business formation, function and management of a small business. Important ideas are developed in the classroom and also through links with the local business community. To help bring out the entrepreneur in our students we run a three day Business Challenge in Term 1. The internal assessments are all research based and cover recruitment and marketing, as well as running a small business to produce and sell at the school Market Day. This course includes two external NCEA examinations, it is a stepping stone in business that leads to taking a Commerce course at university.

An interest in Business and Enterprise.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Approximately $35.00. This covers all 6 assessments internal and external. We are grateful to families making voluntary payments to assist with course specific costs.
Pathway
Selecting this course and following the Business courses through years 12 and 13, is an ideal grounding for any of the many commerce courses at university.
