Level 1 Media Studies
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms F. Pearson
Year 11 Media Studies offers an academic and exciting course of study. Focused on the way society interacts with social media, this course gives students the ability to explore Media Studies theories in a way that encourages critical thinking, paired with creativity. Taking Media Studies will also allow students to explore differentiated assessment methods, allowing them to submit assessments which reflect their particular strengths.
When taking Media Studies you will create a film-based media product, look at how a film genre has changed over time, explore social media’s relationship to society and look deeper at the messages all around you. In a world where our media use drives so many of our every-day interactions, understanding the role the media plays in our lives has never been more important.
