Level 2 Dance
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms A. Flaherty.
Students will explore a variety of dance disciplines such as:
• Performance
• Mastery of technical skill in various dance forms
• Production technologies
• Devising and choreography techniques
This course focuses on performance and artistic expression. It is an extension of the Year 11 Dance course. By exploring contrasting dance forms, students will develop new technical dance skills, strength, extension, flexibility and body awareness. In addition to this, students will refine their performance technique and expand on their creative ideas and expression.
Recommended Prior Learning
Interest in the performing arts and dance.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students must wear a complete change of active wear for all lessons. P.E gear or non-uniform are both fine.
Pathway
This course leads into career pathways in the creative or performing arts, as well as any jobs that have an element of public speaking or presentation.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
