The Year 12 Tourism course is designed for students who are interested in working within the exciting and dynamic tourism industry. The skills and knowledge which students learn within this course are essential to work within this industry, and are also well sought after by other employers and further education providers.
The core topics in Year 12 Tourism include the study of:
- tourist characteristics and needs
- business of tourism
- work roles in the tourist industry
- World tourist destinations
- New Zealand as a tourist destination
- social and cultural impacts of tourism

Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in a career within New Zealand's top growth industry, the Tourism industry.
An interest in travel.
Level 1 literacy is preferred.
