Level 3 Dance

Course Description

Students will explore a variety of dance disciplines. This is a heavily performance-based course with a major focus on devising and interpretation. At Level 3 students enter this course with a solid performance foundation either from prior training elsewhere, or from dance here at HVHS. Students will learn, use, and refine skills in composition. Through collective and active participation, students will up-skill in a range of dance styles and refine their practical technique. This programme offers opportunities to teach peers, and also to perform within a variety of school contexts.


Recommended Prior Learning

Interest in the performing arts, and some experience of dance or performing.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Students must wear a complete change of active wear for practical sessions.

Pathway

This course leads into career pathways in the creative or performing arts, as well as any jobs that have an element of public speaking or presentation.
