Level 3 Business Studies
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms R. Price.
This course covers business formation, function and management of businesses that operate in the global environment. Important ideas are developed in the classroom and also through links with the local business community.
The internal assessments are all research and group based and cover marketing as well as setting up and running a small business through the Young Enterprise Scheme to (hopefully) make a profit.
This final year is a year for the entrepreneurs to have a low risk go at running their own business then using this as a springboard to something bigger and better or going to university to specialise.
Recommended Prior Learning
Reasonable success in Level 2 Business Studies including an external assessment, or reasonable success in Level 2 English or at the discretion of the HOD.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Approximately $10.00 and Young Enterprise fee $35.00. We are grateful to families making voluntary payments to assist with course specific costs.
Pathway
This subject is the final step in taking a Commerce course at University or branching out and starting your own business.
