Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs K. Miller.
This subject involves the study of living things. It includes:
- Gene expression - how genes work
- Genetic variation & change - how populations change over time.
- Socio-scientific issue - biological, ethical, economic and cultural impacts of vaccination - Level 3 credits useful for University Entry
- Carry out a practical investigation - enzymes
- Ecology - how communities of species interact (learnt but not assessed)
- Cell biology - structure and key processes (learnt but not assessed)
An optional trip to Petone Beach will happen in May.
