Year 11 Art - Photography and Design

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr A. Cartwright.


This course will introduce students to a range of photography and design skills, techniques and digital processes for use in the presentation of ideas.
Students will develop an understanding of a variety of tools including the digital SLR camera, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.  Students will generate, develop and refine ideas in response to their interpretation of established practice (artists' works) while demonstrating knowledge of photographic and design conventions.  Check out our website for examples of artwork: https://hvhsvisualartsanddesign.weebly.com/ 


Recommended Prior Learning

Achievement in Junior Art or with approval from the HOD.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Approximately $50.00 for personal art stationery.
We are grateful to families making voluntary payments to assist with course specific costs.

Use practice based research methods to gather and record visual and cultural information
Creating a sustained body of related artworks in response to an art-making proposition

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
