Mathematics has enhanced the capabilities of the human mind and is one of mankind’s greatest achievements.  It has facilitated the development of science, technology, engineering, exploration, business, economics & government.  Mathematics is also an intellectual achievement in its own right; in its sophistication and beauty it epitomizes the power of deductive reasoning and logic. 

Mathematics underpins everyday life and is the tool which helps us make sense of what is around us, from everyday transactions through to the high tech gadgets we use each day.  Through the study of Mathematics, students develop their logical thinking and problem solving skills.
