Year 9 Product Design Technology - Two Terms
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr J. Norris.
This is a half year course in which students design and develop an outcome using mixed materials in a workshop environment. Covering areas such as:
- Research and design
- Materials technology
- Electronics
- Safe practical workshop skills
- Computer Aided Design
- This course will run for half the year and will enable the students to design and develop innovative projects.
- The main project will focus on students learning how to creatively solve a storage problem that they have identified. They will have the opportunity to develop their innovative products and show off their individuality. The product can be made from both textiles and resistant materials, the balance of which is down to the designer to select.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Approximately $60.00 for materials. We are grateful to families making voluntary payments to assist with course specific costs (e.g. materials for students projects)
