Year 11 English and Sustainability

Year 11 English and Sustainability is a course that offers students the opportunity to learn vital English language and literature skills as well as equip themselves with knowledge about environmental sustainability. Students will engage with a range of texts, including articles, memoirs, poetry, novels, and films. This will introduce students to new concepts, vocabulary, language techniques, genre conventions, and ways of communicating about current issues. 

Students will learn reading, writing, viewing, presenting and research skills throughout the course. There may also be a practical element to the learning where students will carry out an environmental action as part of a group project.

Students will complete one NCEA Level One assessment in this course.
